Nvidia and Getty Images have launched Generative AI by iStock, a revolutionary partnership that is expected to shake up the stock photo industry. This text-to-image tool, unveiled at the CES conference in Las Vegas, is about to usher in a new age in visual creation.
Generative AI by iStock gives individual creators and small businesses affordable access to AI-powered photo generation. Users can access Generative AI by iStock for $14.99, which includes 100 prompts. The AI platform, Picasso, developed by Nvidia, is powered by Getty Images' extensive creative libraries. With the four high-quality images generated by each prompt, users can create their own unique visuals just by typing in descriptions.
Generative AI by iStock offers legal indemnity, which is a notable feature. Questions of ownership and copyright have cast a shadow over the murky terrain of AI-generated content. In response, iStock's parent company, Getty Images, offers users $10,000 in legal protection for each image. This assurance protects users from challenges to the originality or legality of their AI-created photos, covering legal fees up to the specified amount.
In a race with OpenAI's DALL-E, this tool saves designers, marketers, and social media marketers the trouble of searching through generic stock photo and video libraries. Users can create unique graphics tailored to their specific needs.
iStock, led by chief product officer Grant Farhall, aims to provide an easy and affordable way for creative projects to incorporate AI. According to him, "Our AI Generator is easy to use, produces relevant and high-quality visuals, and is backed by our legal protection so customers can now safely use this new service."
Software developers can access advanced inpainting and outpainting capabilities through APIs in Generative AI by iStock. Coming soon to iStock.com and Gettyimages.com, these features will let developers replace specific elements, add people and objects to images, and more.
The democratization of creativity is a fascinating topic that has been brought up by the introduction of generative AI by iStock. Anyone can now have access to the tools they need to become an AI-assisted professional visual artist for as little as $15. This tool is a huge leap forward in the ever-changing world of AI-generated content because it both democratizes access to creative tools and solves legal concerns.
The introduction of this groundbreaking tool makes us wonder if we are seeing the beginning of a new age in which artificial intelligence enables everyone to realize their full creative potential, regardless of financial constraints or legal uncertainties.
